The test phone number field in the Send SMS action now has a country flag picker, the same one used elsewhere in the product. Type your number the way you normally dial it and the test sends. The old instruction to add a country code is gone.

How does the country picker work?

The picker sits in front of the field and defaults to your account's country. Whatever flag is selected, the number is saved in full international format before the test goes out, so the country is always known. Click the flag to open the list, then search by country name or dialling code to change it.

How do I send a test SMS?

1. Open the Send SMS action in your workflow and scroll to Test Phone Number.
2. Leave the flag on your account's country, or click it and pick another.
3. Type the number in local format and click Send test SMS.

What does this look like in practice?

A business in Kenya testing an appointment reminder types 0722123456. The picker already shows the Kenya flag, so the test goes to +254722123456. To check the same message on a number in another country, switch the flag first and then type that number in its local format.

Why was this changed?

Most people type their own number the way they dial it, without a country code. That failed every time, and the error made it look as though the number itself was wrong, which turned a quick test into guesswork about formatting. The error text is now simply "Invalid phone number".
