Badges are a light, visual way to recognise a milestone, and you can hand them out automatically. Any workflow can award one using the Issue Certificate action, so a customer finishes a course or submits a form and the badge arrives on its own. You pick a badge template instead of a certificate template, and everything else works the same way.

How do I set this up?

You build it like any other automation: one trigger, one action. The whole thing takes a few minutes and runs from then on without you touching it.

1. Go to Automation, then Workflows.
2. Create a workflow from scratch, or open one you already use.
3. Add a trigger for the moment you want to recognise.
4. Add an Action and select Issue Certificate.
5. Choose a badge template rather than a certificate template.
6. Save and publish the workflow.

Which moments are worth awarding a badge for?

The triggers people use most sit under Courses, Contact and Form Activities. Course completion and lesson progress work well for training businesses, while form activity suits competitions, sign-up drives and loyalty schemes.

What does the customer actually receive?

The badge goes out as a downloadable image, so it is small, easy to save and easy to share. That makes it suited to frequent, small recognitions rather than the formal end-of-course certificate. You can run both from the same workflow if you want a badge at each stage and a certificate at the finish.
