Workflows can now look up an existing company or custom object record in your CRM and act on what they find. Two new actions, Find Company and Find Object Record, join the existing Find Contact action, so incoming data can be matched to a record you already hold instead of creating a duplicate or waiting for someone to search by hand.

What do these new actions do?

They search your CRM for a record that matches data arriving in the workflow, then let the workflow carry on using that record. Find Company works in company-based workflows and Find Object Record works in custom object-based workflows. Once a record is matched you can update it, associate it with something else, or branch the workflow based on what was found.

What can I match on?

You can match on the fields that uniquely identify a record, so the result is predictable rather than a best guess.

• Record ID
• External ID
• Company Domain
• Any other object field, such as a vehicle VIN

You can stack several conditions together with AND logic when one field is not enough to pin down the right record.

What happens if more than one record matches?

You choose. The Filter On setting lets you take either the Earliest or the Latest matching record, so the workflow always resolves to a single record instead of stalling on an ambiguous result.

What happens if nothing matches?

The action gives you two outcomes to build on, Record Found and Record Not Found, and you branch the workflow from there. A common pattern is to update the record when it is found and create a new one when it is not.

How do I set it up?

1. Add the Find Company or Find Object Record action to your workflow.
2. Start the workflow with an Inbound Webhook trigger, since the incoming payload supplies the values your filters compare against.
3. Configure each filter with the object field to match on the left and the webhook payload field or a fixed value on the right.
4. Set Filter On to Earliest or Latest to decide which record wins when several match.
5. Define the Record Found and Record Not Found outcomes and build the rest of the workflow under each.

Do I need this if my workflow already starts with that object?

No. When the workflow already begins with the same object, for example a Company Created trigger, the lookup step is skipped automatically because the record is already in hand.
