Open a Contact Without Losing Your Place
Clicking a contact's name from your opportunities or appointments list now opens their details over the page you are on, rather than taking you to the full contact page. You can check a phone number or read a conversation and carry straight on with the list you were working through. Working down a pipeline no longer means losing your position every time you need to look something up.
What changed?
Clicking a contact name or the conversation icon used to redirect you to the contact details page every time. You now choose how the contact opens, and there is a separate icon for going to the full page directly if that is what you want.
What are my viewing options?
There are three, and you pick per contact rather than setting one and living with it. Two open as an overlay and one behaves the way it always has.
- Single-column view: opens the left panel of the contact details page alongside conversations and the other right-panel features.
- Two-column view: opens an expanded view with the contact details panel and a wider Conversations view.
- Contact details page: opens the full page directly, exactly as before.
Can I get back to where I was?
Yes. If you open the full contact details page from the overlay, you can navigate back to the page you were working on and pick up where you left off.
Does it respect my contact page layout?
Yes. If your contact details page has been customised, the overlay shows those same customisations, so the fields sit where your team expects them in both views.
Where does this work?
The overlay currently works on opportunities and appointments. It will be extended to other places where contact names appear.
You will find this in Opportunities and in Calendars under the appointments list, by clicking a contact's name.
