There is now a separate permission for creating pipelines, so you can decide which of your staff are allowed to make new ones. Anyone without the permission can still work their deals normally, they just cannot create, clone or duplicate a pipeline.

How do I turn this on for someone?

The permission sits with the rest of a staff member's permissions, under the Opportunities section. Changes take effect immediately, so there is no need for the person to log out and back in.

1. Go to Settings, then My Staff.
2. Select the staff member you want to change and open Roles & Permissions.
3. Find the Opportunities section.
4. Switch the Create Pipeline permission on or off.
5. Save your changes.

What exactly does the permission block?

It gates every route to a new pipeline, not just the obvious one. A staff member without it cannot create a pipeline from scratch, and cannot clone or duplicate an existing one either.

• Creating a new pipeline
• Cloning an existing pipeline
• Duplicating an existing pipeline

Why would I restrict this?

Pipelines are meant to reflect how your business actually sells, and that breaks down quickly when several people each build their own version. Keeping creation with one or two people means your team reports on the same stages, and your opportunity numbers stay comparable from month to month.
