Build a Contact Page That Suits How Your Team Works
You can now design the contact detail page instead of living with one fixed layout. Build up to five different views, arrange the modules the way your team actually works, and assign each view to the right people so everyone opens a contact and sees what matters to their job.
What can I actually change?
You control the structure of the page and what appears on it. Choose how many panels the page has, whether each module shows as a tab or a dropdown, and which fields and folders are visible at all.
- Choose between two-panel or three-panel layouts.
- Configure modules as tabs or as dropdowns.
- Reorder modules, and drag and drop them across panels.
- Place any module between the All fields and Actions tabs.
- Show or hide custom fields and folders depending on what your team needs.
How many different views can I create?
You can create up to five views and assign each one to specific people or to whole user groups. Everyone automatically sees the layout assigned to them when they open a contact, with no action needed on their part.
What is on the new contact card?
The contact card now carries the key details up front, so you do not have to hunt for them. Email address, phone number and physical address all sit on the card itself.
How do I set it up?
- Enable contact page customisation from Labs.
- Go to Contacts, then Settings, then Customise contact detail view.
- Create a view and configure it.
- Design the layout by rearranging modules, choosing the panel structure, and setting each module to display as a tab or a dropdown.
- Set which custom fields and folders are visible.
- Assign the view to individual people or to whole user groups.
Why does this matter for my business?
Before this, everyone worked from the same fixed layout no matter what their role was. Now your salesperson, your bookkeeper and your service team can each open the same contact and see the information their own job depends on, with the clutter stripped out.
You will find this under Contacts, then Settings, then Customise contact detail view, once you have switched it on in Labs.
