Find a Record's ID Without Hunting Through the System
Record IDs are now easy to see and copy in Ignite Funnels. You can add them as a column in list views and read them in the footer of any record's detail panel. This covers Custom Objects, companies and tasks, and saves real time when you are debugging an automation or connecting another system.
Where can I see a Record ID?
There are two places. In a list view you can turn on Record ID as a column so every row shows its identifier. In a single record, the ID sits in the footer of the detail panel where you can read or copy it.
How do I switch the column on?
The Record ID column is off by default so lists stay uncluttered for everyday use. Turn it on only when you need it, and switch it off again afterwards.
- Open the list view for Custom Objects, companies or tasks.
- Select Manage Fields.
- Enable the Record ID column.

Record IDs are available in three areas: Custom Objects, companies and tasks. The behaviour is the same in each, so there is only one place to look once you know the pattern.

When would I actually need an ID?
Record IDs matter when something needs to point at one exact record rather than a name that might be duplicated. They are the fastest way to trace why an automation behaved unexpectedly for one customer, and they are what an outside system needs when you connect it to your CRM. Having them on screen also speeds up support conversations, because you can quote the exact record straight away.
Where to find it: Manage Fields in any Custom Objects, companies or tasks list view, or the footer of a record's detail panel.
