Stop Getting Task Emails on Days You Have No Tasks
You can now switch off the daily task summary on days when you have no tasks due or overdue. One setting stops the empty reminder arriving, so when a task notification does land in your inbox you know there is genuinely something waiting for you.
How do I turn off the empty reminders?
The option sits with your other personal notification settings, so it applies to your own account rather than to everyone on your team. Each person on your team can make their own choice.
- Go to Settings, then My Profile.
- Open Notifications, then Task Notifications.
- Enable Don't send notifications when there are no tasks.
Will I still be told about real tasks?
Yes. The daily due and overdue summaries carry on exactly as before whenever you actually have tasks. The only thing that stops is the message telling you there is nothing to do.
Who should switch this on?
Anyone who has started ignoring task emails because most of them are empty. Cutting the blank summaries makes the remaining ones worth opening, which is the point of a reminder in the first place.
You will find it in Settings > My Profile > Notifications > Task Notifications.
