Certificates and certificate templates now carry their own expiry rules. You decide how long an issued credential stays valid — forever, until a fixed date, or for a set number of months from the day it was issued — and the holder can be reminded before it lapses.

What expiry options do I get?

Three, and you set them per certificate or per template. Relative expiry is the one most training businesses want, because it counts from each learner's own issue date rather than a shared deadline.

• Never — the credential does not expire.
• A fixed date — every credential issued from this template expires on the same day.
• Relative to the issue date — 3, 6, 9, 12, 24 or 36 months after the credential was issued.

Expiry is calculated with the correct timezone, and the setting is shown clearly in your credential and template lists so you can see at a glance which ones expire.

How do I set it up?

Configure it once on the template and every credential issued afterwards calculates and stores its own expiry date automatically.

1. Open a certificate or credential template.
2. Set the expiration rule — Never, a fixed date, or a number of months from issue.
3. Set reminder offsets if you want holders notified ahead of expiry.
4. Save. Newly issued credentials use these settings.

Who should use this?

Any business issuing credentials that need renewing. First aid and safety training, food handling certificates, professional memberships and licences all lapse on a schedule, and the reminders mean you are not chasing people manually or discovering an expired certificate after the fact.
