See What Your Google Ads Spend Is Actually Buying
Google Ads now has its own section in the dashboard widget panel. Connect your Google Ads account once and eleven widgets pull your spend, clicks, impressions and conversions in automatically. Your ad performance sits beside your pipeline and revenue reporting instead of living in a separate platform you have to log into.
Which widgets do I get?
Eleven, covering the four numbers that decide whether advertising is working for you, each available as a running total and as a trend over time. They are ready to use with no setup beyond choosing them.
- Total conversions and Conversions over time
- Total cost and Cost over time
- Total clicks and Clicks over time
- Total impressions and Impressions over time
- Clicks by campaign
- Conversions by campaign
- CPC, your cost per click
How do I set this up?
Connect the account first, then add the widgets. Nothing shows data until Google Ads is connected, so start there.
- Go to Settings, then Integrations, then Google Ads, and connect your account.
- Open any dashboard and click Edit dashboard.
- Click Add widget and scroll to the new Google Ads section.
- Pick a widget and confirm your linked ad account on the Integration tab.
- Set your filters, choose a chart type, and click Save changes.
Can I narrow a widget to one campaign?
Every one of the eleven widgets is filterable, so a widget can show one campaign rather than your whole account. Filter by Campaign, by Campaign type, or by Zero impressions and Zero conversions to isolate the campaigns that are not delivering.
Can I work out my return on ad spend?
Yes. Google Ads metrics are now available as dimensions in Custom Metrics, so you can build your own figures in the formula builder by combining ad data with your pipeline and revenue data. Return on ad spend and cost per closed deal are both possible today.
Why put ad data on the same screen?
Advertising decisions get made on guesswork when the numbers live somewhere else. Total cost and Cost over time show what you are spending and when, Clicks by campaign and Conversions by campaign show which campaigns earn that spend, and Custom Metrics ties both to the money that actually came in.
You will find these under Add widget on any dashboard, in the Google Ads section, and the connection under Settings, then Integrations.
