Let Customers Message You Straight From Google
You can now attach WhatsApp and SMS numbers, plus your social profiles, to your Google Business Profile from inside Ignite Funnels. Someone who finds your business on Google can start a WhatsApp chat instead of hunting for a phone number, and if you use a number connected to Ignite Funnels that conversation arrives in your inbox and can trigger your automations.
How do I add my WhatsApp and SMS numbers?
Messaging channels are added during the Google Business Profile connection flow, and your connected numbers appear in a dropdown so you can pick one rather than typing it out.
- Go to Settings, then Integration, and open the Google Business Profile card.
- Click Connect or Manage to see the profile pages linked to your Google account.
- Choose a number from the dropdown for WhatsApp and for Text (SMS).
- Review the connected channels and save.
Which social channels can I link?
You can connect seven social profiles to your Google Business Profile page, so customers reach you on whichever platform they already use. Click Connect or Manage channels to add or edit the links at any time.

Does it matter which number I use?
Yes, and this is the most important detail. Only numbers and social channels connected to Ignite Funnels sync their messages back into your inbox and can set off automations. If you enter an outside number you will see a warning, and messages to that number will not appear in Ignite Funnels — they go to the handset only.
What should I know before I save?
- If you add both a WhatsApp and a Text number, Google shows the Text number in search results. WhatsApp is only displayed when no Text number is set.
- Google reviews and approves the details before linking them, so there can be a delay before your channels appear on your public profile.
- You can update or remove any channel later from the same screen.
Why is this worth doing?
Google is where most people check whether a business is real before they contact it. Offering WhatsApp at that moment removes the friction of dialling a stranger, which means more conversations started and more of them captured as leads instead of lost.
