Describe the Invoice You Want and AI Builds the Layout

You can now design your own invoice layouts with the Layout AI Builder. Describe the invoice you want in plain words, and AI builds it, then you adjust any element by hand in a visual builder and apply the finished layout to the invoices your customers receive. No code, and no being stuck with one fixed template.

How do I create an invoice layout with AI?

You type a description of the invoice you want and the builder produces it. Be specific about placement and content, for example: "A clean two-column invoice with my logo top-left, an itemised table in the centre, and payment terms and bank details at the bottom." The builder works from that description alone.

Can I rebuild the invoice I already use?

Yes. Upload or describe the invoice layout your business uses today and AI recreates it, so you start from something familiar instead of a blank template. Your existing paperwork becomes the starting point rather than something you have to abandon.

What if the first result is not right?

You are not locked into what AI produces first. Keep asking the Layout AI Builder for changes, or open the layout and adjust it yourself, moving, aligning, adding or removing elements directly. Every AI change saves a restore point, so you can return to any earlier version from the chat, and the toolbar has an undo.

• Ask for further changes in the chat as many times as you need.
• Edit style and content by hand in the builder.
• Roll back to any earlier version from a restore point.
• Rate answers with a thumbs up or thumbs down to help improve results.
• Publish becomes available once the layout has content, and takes you back to the Layouts list showing the new published version.

How do I manage several layouts?

All your layouts live in one Layouts list, so you can build separate designs for different clients, services or parts of your business. From the list you can preview, download, clone, rename or delete any layout without opening it.

• Switch between grid and list views.
• Search layouts by name, and sort by name or last updated date.
• Preview a layout without leaving the list.
• Rename, clone or delete from the layout's three-dot menu.
• View history shows who created, edited, published or copied each layout, and when.

What happens to invoices already sent on a layout?

Sent invoices keep the design your customer saw. A layout locks once its invoice is sent or partially paid, and if you delete a layout, invoices already sent continue showing the original design. Draft invoices that used a deleted layout fall back to the default layout.

Where do I find this?

Go to Payments, open the Invoices and Estimates dropdown, and you will find the Layout AI Builder under Layouts. Once a layout is published, you can select it whenever you create an invoice. If Layouts is not showing yet, it is activated under Settings, then Labs, by searching for AI-Powered Custom Invoice Layouts and clicking Activate Feature.
