Email a Whole Segment Without Rebuilding Your List

You can now send a bulk email to associated contacts directly from your Companies and Custom Objects lists.

Select the companies, properties, policies, pets or whatever other records you work with, choose which associated contacts should receive it, and send. There is no need to rebuild the same audience over in your contacts list.

What is new

• A new Send email bulk action for Companies and for any Custom Object that has contact associations
• For Custom Objects, select one or more association labels to decide who receives the email
• Choose to send to the most recently associated contact, the earliest associated contact, or all associated contacts
• Use Company and Custom Object fields as merge fields in the email content
• Write it using Quick Compose, Smart Builder, or an existing template
• Send immediately, schedule it for later, or use batch mode
• Track delivery and engagement through Bulk Actions and through Marketing, then Emails, then Bulk Action Campaigns
• Contacts who appear under more than one selected association label are only emailed once

How to use it

1. Open Companies or a supported Custom Object.
2. Select the records you want to email from.
3. Click Send email.

4. For Custom Objects, select the association label or labels you need.
5. Choose which associated contacts should receive the email.

6. Write and personalise the email using contact, company or custom object fields.

7. Send now, schedule it, or use batch mode.
8. Track the results from Bulk Actions.

Why this matters

Smart Lists already let you build sharp segments from company and custom object data, but until now you could not email those segments directly, because bulk email always started from contacts. Now you can segment first and send straight away.

Some examples

1. Filter properties by town, price, property type or status, and email the associated potential buyers.
2. Filter policies by renewal date and email the associated policy holders.
3. Filter companies by industry, lifecycle stage, account tier or owner, and run a targeted campaign to other businesses.
4. Filter memberships or subscriptions by expiry date and email the associated members.
5. Build any Smart List from Custom Object fields and email the contacts linked to those records.

Worth knowing

1. The action is available for Custom Objects that have an association with contacts.
2. For Companies, the contact association is selected for you automatically.
3. Your existing email permissions, consent requirements and deliverability rules still apply.
4. The final recipient list is worked out at the moment the bulk action runs.
