Let Community Activity Start Your Follow-Up Automatically
Four new Community triggers let a workflow react the moment a member does something inside one of your groups. A new post, a new comment, an event registration or a rejected join request can now start follow-up, alerts or moderation on its own, without anyone watching the group all day.
What activity can now start a workflow?
Four member actions inside your groups are available as workflow triggers. Each one asks you to choose a Group, and most let you narrow things further with optional filters so the workflow only runs when it genuinely matters.
- Group Joining Request Rejected — runs when a member's request to join a group is turned down. Filter: Group (required).
- Group Post Created — runs when a new post is created in a group. Filters: Group (required), Channel, Post Title, Post Content.
- Group Comment Created — runs when a new comment is added to a group post. Filters: Group (required), Channel, Post Title, Post Content, Comment Content.
- Member Registered for Group Event — runs when a member registers for a group event. Filters: Group (required), Event Title.
How do I set this up?
You add these the same way you add any other trigger, from inside the workflow builder. Search for "Community" when the trigger list opens and the four new options appear together.
- Go to Automation > Workflows in your sub-account.
- Create a new workflow, or open one you already run.
- Click Add New Trigger and search "Community".
- Pick your trigger, choose the Group, then add any optional filters such as Channel, Post Title, Post Content, Comment Content or Event Title.
- Build your actions, click Save trigger, then Publish.
What would I actually use these for?
The triggers turn ordinary group activity into work that handles itself. That matters most as a community grows and nobody has time to read every post.
- Send a polite message explaining next steps when a join request is rejected.
- Alert a moderator when a post lands in a channel that needs watching.
- Follow up with everyone who registers for an event, with reminders before the day.
- Flag comments containing certain words so a person reviews them quickly.
You will find these under Automation > Workflows, by clicking Add New Trigger and searching for Community.
