Help Students Find the Right Course in Your Library
Course Tags let you label each course by language, difficulty and topic, and your learners can filter the course library using those labels. The tags show on the course cards, so someone browsing sees at a glance which courses are pitched at their level and in their language. A library that has grown past a handful of courses becomes navigable again.
How do I tag a course?
Tags are part of each course's settings, so you set them on the course itself rather than managing a separate list.
- Go to Memberships, then Courses, then Settings.
- Under Course Tags, choose the Language, the Difficulty and the Topic.
- Save your course.
Your learners can use the new filters immediately after you save. There is nothing to publish separately.
Can I invent my own tags?
Not yet. The Language, Difficulty and Topic tags are standardised and predefined, which keeps categorisation consistent across every course in your library rather than drifting as different people add courses. The ability to create your own tags is on the way.
Where do the filters appear for learners?
Tags and filtering work across both the All Courses and My Courses library views, so a learner can narrow the full catalogue before enrolling and also find their way around what they have already signed up for.
Why tag courses at all?
An untagged library makes every learner read every course title to find the one that suits them, and some give up instead. Tagging by language, level and subject turns your library into something closer to a catalogue, and it replaces the custom fields and manual sorting you would otherwise use to keep courses organised.
