Connect Instagram Without a Facebook Page

You can now connect an Instagram account to Ignite Funnels directly, without first having a Facebook Page linked to it. Your Instagram Direct messages flow into the same inbox as your WhatsApp, SMS and email conversations, and they can start automations like any other channel. The feature is available under Labs.

How do I connect my Instagram account?

Direct Instagram connection is switched on in Labs first, after which a dedicated Instagram card appears in your integrations list. From there you connect the account and manage it on its own.

1. Go to Labs and enable Instagram Direct Integration.
2. Go to Settings, then Integrations.
3. Open the Instagram card and connect your account.

What can I do once Instagram is connected?

Instagram becomes a full conversation channel rather than a separate app you check on your phone. Messages land in your inbox, the sender becomes a contact, and your automations can respond.

A Messaging & Automations toggle lets you control this per account. Switching it off stops both messaging and automation for that Instagram account.

What happens to my existing Facebook Page connection?

Instagram accounts already connected through a Facebook Page keep working exactly as they do now. Both connection methods are supported side by side, and you can see all your connected Instagram accounts in one place regardless of how each one was linked.

• Enabling the direct connection automatically disables the toggle for Facebook Page based Instagram connections
• An Instagram account connected through a Facebook Page cannot be disconnected on its own — you have to disconnect the Facebook Page first
• Existing workflows and automations keep running if you switch the same account between connection methods
• An account connected here is also connected in Social Planner, and the reverse, because both use the same Meta app

Why connect directly rather than through Facebook?

A direct connection removes the Facebook Page dependency, which matters if your business runs on Instagram and has no real Facebook presence. It is also the route that upcoming Instagram-native features will use, including replying to poll responses and messaging your followers directly, so connecting directly now positions you for those.
