Jump Straight to the Messages You Have Not Read
Opening an unread conversation now takes you directly to the first message you have not read, marked with a New divider. You no longer scroll back through campaign logs and old activity trying to work out where you left off. In a long thread this is the difference between answering a customer and missing them entirely.
How do I find the unread messages?
You do not have to look for them. Open any unread conversation and it scrolls to the first unread message automatically, with a New divider marking exactly where the unread portion begins.
- Open any unread conversation.
- You land on the first unread message, marked by a New divider.
- Read from there.
When does the New marker disappear?
The New indicator clears only when you reply or mark the conversation as read yourself. It survives navigating away and refreshing the page, so glancing at a conversation between other jobs will not wipe your place in it.
How do I switch this on?
Enable it from Labs, under the entry named Conversations: Quickly Find Unread Messages with New Indicators. Note that the New indicator only appears on messages received after 23 April 2026, so older threads will not show it.
Why does this matter?
Unread messages get buried between campaign logs, notes and long message histories. A customer question sitting three screens up looks identical to no question at all, and this update removes the guesswork about which conversations still need you.
You will find this in Conversations, once enabled from Labs.
This update was originally released in May 2026. Menu locations may have changed since.
