Faster Lesson Video and Tighter Security in the Member App

Version 13.0.0 of the Kollab App for iOS and Android cuts video start time from eight to ten seconds down to one or two. It also gives admins more control over lesson comments, supports richer lesson descriptions, and adds a stronger password change flow. Members get the changes by updating the app.

How much faster is video now?

Lesson video begins playing in one to two seconds, where it previously took eight to ten. That difference decides whether a member starts the lesson or closes the app, so it matters most for course completion rates. No change is needed at your end.

What new control do I have over lesson comments?

Admins can now hide lesson comments selectively rather than switching them off everywhere. You choose to hide them by category, by individual lesson, or according to privacy settings. That lets you keep discussion open on the lessons where it helps and close it on the ones where it distracts.

Can lesson descriptions hold more than plain text?

Lesson descriptions now support rich content, so the description field can carry real teaching material instead of a single line. That is useful for adding context, downloads or a short briefing before the main lesson video.

What has changed for live sessions?

GoLive is more stable, with support for multiple devices, haptic feedback and a cleaner interface. Sessions are less likely to drop partway through, which matters when you are running a paid live class. The mobile app also now respects the group-level tab settings you set on the web, so a hidden Learning tab stays hidden on mobile.

What are the security changes?

The password change flow has been improved, and members can now choose to log out of all devices after changing their password. That is the right action when someone suspects their account has been shared or compromised. It closes off old sessions rather than leaving them active.

What else was fixed?

This release clears a batch of bugs that mostly affected admins managing larger groups. None of them need action from you beyond updating the app.
