Run Your Community Event Without Leaving the Platform

Community events can now run on a built-in Live Room, set up at the moment you create the event. You can still attach Zoom, Google Meet or any other link if that is what your group is used to, but the meeting is now part of the event rather than something you organise separately.

What meeting options can I attach to an event?

You choose the meeting type while creating the event, in the same way you would add a meeting link in a calendar tool. Four options are available.

• Live Room — run the event on the built-in live experience.
• Zoom — add your Zoom meeting link.
• Meet — add your Google Meet link.
• Other — add any custom meeting link.

How do attendees join?

Members join straight from the event itself, so there is no link to hunt for in a chat thread or an email. Every event behaves the same way, and members can join from their phone directly.

Why is this worth switching to?

Setting up the event sets up the meeting at the same time, which removes the usual gap where an event exists but the link has not been shared yet. Attendees get one consistent way in, which cuts down on the confusion that keeps people from showing up.
