Set Up Your Submission Columns Before Anyone Replies
Manage Fields now shows every field on your form, survey or quiz, including fields that have never received an answer. Previously it only listed fields that had already appeared in at least one submission, which meant you could not set up your columns until real responses had started arriving. You can now prepare the view you want before you publish.
What is different now?
The list is built from the form itself rather than from the submissions received so far. Any field you have added shows up, whether or not anyone has answered it.
- Manage Fields lists every field defined on your form, survey or quiz.
- New fields appear immediately, with no submission data required.
- Fields added after earlier submissions now appear in the available fields list instead of being hidden.
- Available but unselected fields show up in the Add Fields section, ready to be turned on.
How do I get to it?
Manage Fields sits behind the submissions view for the form, survey or quiz you are working on.
- Go to Sites > Forms, Surveys or Quizzes.
- Open the three-dot menu on the item you want.
- Click View Submission.
- On the Submissions page, click Manage Columns to see and add any field, including those with no data yet.
Why is this useful?
It lets you build the submissions view and the report you actually want before the first response arrives, rather than waiting for test submissions to make the columns appear. It also means a field added later to an established form is visible straight away instead of seeming to have gone missing.
