See at a Glance Which Numbers Can No Longer Send SMS
SMS is no longer supported on Mexico local phone numbers, because of a carrier change upstream of Ignite Funnels. Your phone numbers list now shows an "SMS not supported" pill on every affected number, so you can see which of your numbers lost texting at a glance. Voice calling, and WhatsApp where it applies, continue to work normally.
Which of my numbers are affected?
Only Mexico local numbers are affected, and every one of them now carries the status pill. This applies to numbers you already own and to any Mexico local number bought from now on. No other country is affected by this change.
Where do I check this?
The pill sits in your phone numbers list alongside the status pills that were already there. Hover over it and a tooltip explains why SMS is unavailable on that number.
- Go to Settings, then Phone Numbers.
- Open Manage Numbers.
- Open the Phone Numbers tab.
- Look at the status pills next to each number.
Do I need to change any settings?
No setup is required. The pill appears automatically on affected numbers, and numbers with more than two status pills now wrap neatly within the column instead of stretching the table out of shape.
What should I do before buying a new number?
Check the capabilities listed against a number before you buy it. Buying numbers works exactly as it did before, and numbers hit by this carrier change are shown with capabilities other than SMS, so the list tells you upfront what each number can do. Pick your numbers based on what you actually need to send.
You will find your numbers and their capability pills under Settings, then Phone Numbers, then Manage Numbers.
