Know Your Profit on Every Sale Without a Spreadsheet

You can now record a cost price and margin against every product price and variant, so profitability is tracked inside Ignite Funnels instead of in a separate spreadsheet. Once cost data is in, it flows through to your transaction exports, invoices and calendars, and you can see what you actually make on each sale.

How do I add a cost price to a product?

Open the product and switch on the Add Margin toggle in the Pricing section. The toggle is off by default, so nothing changes on products you have already set up until you turn it on for them. You can set a cost price on each individual price or variant rather than one figure for the whole product.

1. Go to Payments, then Products.
2. Create a new product or edit an existing one.
3. In the Pricing section, tick Add Margin.
4. Enter the cost price and margin for that price or variant.

Do I enter the margin as a shilling amount or a percentage?

Either. Choose Amount or Percentage mode, then fill in one field and the other is worked out for you from the selling price. A margin above 100 percent is allowed and simply means the cost is higher than what you are charging, which is a useful warning to see on screen.

What happens when I override a price on an invoice?

The cost price is always taken from the original product and is never recalculated from the amount you typed in. This applies to invoices and calendars where prices are manually overridden, so a one-off discount does not quietly distort your cost figures.

How do I analyse profit across all my sales?

Export your transactions and use the Line Item Cost Price column. It appears automatically in the Transactions CSV once a cost price has been defined for a product, letting you work out profit per transaction rather than per product.

1. Go to Payments, then Transactions.
2. Click Export CSV.
3. Open the file and use the Line Item Cost Price column alongside the sale amount.
