Rename and Reorder Community Tabs to Match Your Brand
You can now drag your community tabs into whatever order suits your members, and rename them to language your members already use. Admins and owners also switch off tabs the community does not need. Changes apply to everyone as soon as you save.
How do I change the order of my tabs?
Tabs are rearranged by dragging them in your community settings. You can move Discussion, Learning, Events, Leaderboards, Members and About into any order, so the section members use most sits first. The new order is what every member sees.
Can I call a tab something else?
Any tab takes a custom label of your choosing. Click the edit icon next to the tab, type the name you want, and save. This is useful when the default wording does not match how your members talk, for example calling Learning something like Training or Masterclass.
What are the steps?
All of it happens on one settings screen, and nothing takes effect until you save. Work through the tabs in any order and save once at the end.
- Go to Settings, then Community Tabs inside your community.
- Drag tabs using the handle on the left to rearrange them.
- Click the edit icon next to any tab and enter a custom label to rename it.
- Use the existing switches to show or hide individual tabs.
- Click Save changes.
Are there any tabs I cannot change?
The Discussion and About tabs can be reordered and renamed but cannot be switched off, since they carry the core of the community. Everything else can be hidden if you are not using it. Only admins and owners can make any of these changes.
Will my custom names be translated for members in other languages?
No. Custom tab names display exactly as you type them, in every language. If you run a community across English and Swahili speakers, choose a label that reads clearly for both, or keep the default name so it translates automatically.
Who should use this?
Any community that does not use all six default tabs, or whose members have their own name for a section. Hiding unused tabs cuts clutter for new members, and renaming makes navigation feel like part of your business rather than generic software. Changes persist across sessions.
