Sort Your Pipeline by the Fields That Matter to You

You can now sort your opportunities by any custom field you have created, not only the built-in ones. If you track a job number, a site visit date or a quoted value on your deals, you can order your pipeline by it and work straight down the list.

How do I sort by a custom field?

Sorting works exactly as it always has, you simply have more fields to choose from. Open Opportunities, click Sort, pick your custom field and choose the direction. The list reorders instantly.

1. Go to Opportunities.
2. Click Sort.
3. Select the custom field you want to sort by.
4. Choose ascending or descending.

Which field types can I sort by?

Most of the field types you would want to order a pipeline by are supported. Text fields sort alphabetically, numbers and money sort by value, and date fields sort by when they fall.

• Dropdown (Single Select) and Radio Select
• Number and Monetary
• Phone
• Date

Does it work on every pipeline?

Yes. Sorting by custom fields is available across all your pipelines and all your views, and it works alongside the sorting you already use rather than replacing it.

Why is this worth doing?

Ordering deals by your own data means you decide what gets worked first, rather than accepting whatever order the default fields produce. Sorting by quoted value shows you the biggest deals at the top; sorting by a site visit date shows you what is coming up next.
