Give Every Tag a Colour and a Category

Your tags can now carry a colour and sit inside a category, so you can pick the right one out of a long list at a glance. Group related tags together and give each one a colour that means something to your business.

Every tag you already have keeps working exactly as it did. Existing tags simply appear in grey under a category called No category until you decide to change them.

How do I give a tag its own colour?

Open your tag list and assign a colour to any tag. You can choose from the predefined list or use the colour picker to set a custom colour, including the exact colours of your brand. Any tag you leave alone stays grey.

You can update the colour of any existing tag at any time.

Where do the colours actually show up?

Tag colours appear wherever you work with tags day to day. You see them when you add a tag from the contact details page, and in the tag columns of your Smart Lists.

How do I group tags into categories?

Categories give you a structured way to group related tags together. Create a category, then move individual tags into it, or move several tags at once in bulk.

• Create categories and group multiple tags under them.
• Move individual tags, or bulk move several tags, between categories.
• Every tag belongs to a category.

What happens to the tags I already have?

There is nothing you need to undo. Tags without an assigned category are placed under No category automatically, and all of your existing tags start there. Move them into new categories whenever you are ready.

What happens if I delete a category?

The tags inside it are not deleted. They move automatically to No category, so you never lose a tag by reorganising.
