Tasks Now Work the Same Way on Contacts and Deals
Tasks now look and behave the same whether you open them from a contact or from an opportunity. The same creation form, the same filters and the same search appear in both places, so your team only has to learn one layout. Features that were previously available in one area only, such as recurring tasks, now work in both.
What actually changed for my team?
Before this update, the task panel on a contact and the task panel on an opportunity behaved differently, and some options existed in one place but not the other. Both now use a single, consistent design. Whichever record your staff open, the buttons sit in the same place and do the same thing.
Is it easier to create a task now?
The task creation form has been tidied up with clearer labels and a simpler layout, so there is less to read before you can save. The fields are arranged in the order you would naturally fill them in. This cuts down the time it takes to log a follow-up in the middle of a call.
Can I set a repeating task from anywhere?
Yes. Recurring tasks are available from every task panel rather than from one area only. Set a task to repeat once and it keeps coming back on schedule, which suits things like monthly check-in calls or a weekly stock count.
How do I find one task among hundreds?
The task panels include filtering and a search box, so you can locate a specific task without scrolling through a long list. Search works the same way on contacts and on opportunities. Combine it with the filters to narrow down to one person's outstanding work.
Where to find it: the Tasks panel on any contact or opportunity record.
This update was originally released in June 2025. Menu locations may have changed since.
