Stop Suppliers Cluttering Up Your Customer List

June 18, 2026

Connecting Xero to Ignite Funnels now gives you full control over which contacts come across, and where they land. Vendors and suppliers no longer have to clutter up your CRM.

The problem this solves

When you connected Xero, every active contact came in automatically. There was no filtering and no choice. Vendors, suppliers and contacts you never needed flooded your contact list, and suppliers, the people you pay, ended up sitting in the same list as your actual customers and leads. That made your CRM harder to trust and harder to work with.

What is new

Two settings on your Xero connection screen give you precise control over your contact sync. Choose exactly which contacts come into Ignite Funnels, then decide where suppliers go: mixed in with your contacts, or kept separate as business records. Your existing setup is left alone unless you opt in.

  • Keep your CRM clean. Pull in only the contacts you actually need: customers, one specific group, or everyone. Your call.
  • Separate suppliers from leads. Stop suppliers appearing alongside your customers. Send them to business records instead.
  • Work with data you trust. A cleaner contact list means faster outreach, better segmenting, and far less filtering.
  • Nothing breaks. Both settings start on the original behaviour, so nothing changes until you choose it.

How to set it up

  1. Go to Payments, then Invoices and Estimates, then Accounting Sync.
  2. Click Manage on your connected Xero account.
  3. Set which contacts to sync. Choose All Contacts, Only Customers, Only Suppliers, or one or more specific Xero contact groups.
  4. Set how suppliers are handled. Choose All to Contacts, which is the default, or Split by type to send suppliers to business records.
  5. Save. Your next sync will use the new settings.

Good to know

  • Available on the web version only.
  • Applies to Xero only. QuickBooks and Wave contact sync settings cannot be configured this way yet.
  • Both settings default to the original behaviour, so existing connections are unaffected until you opt in.
  • Split by type sends suppliers to business records rather than your standard contact list.
  • Filtering by contact group needs those groups to already exist on the Xero side.
