How to Connect Your Outlook Account

September 26, 2026

Connecting your Outlook or Microsoft 365 account lets Ignite Funnels work with your business email. This guide shows how to connect it and check it is working.

Before you begin

  • You are signed in to Ignite Funnels with permission to manage email connections.
  • You can sign in to the Microsoft account you want to connect.
  • Use a business account your company has approved, and read the permission request before accepting.

How to connect Outlook

  1. Open email settings. Sign in and open the email or connected accounts area of your settings.
  2. Choose Outlook. Select the option to connect an Outlook or Microsoft email account.
  3. Sign in to Microsoft. Pick the correct Microsoft account and read the access request.
  4. Approve the connection. Approve the permissions requested for this account. If your company's Microsoft 365 admin restricts app access, they may need to approve it first.
  5. Check the status. Back in Ignite Funnels, confirm Outlook shows as connected.
  6. Test it. Send a test and check the right email address is used. If it fails, reconnect once, then contact Support.

Quick checklist

  • Microsoft account: the correct business email is selected.
  • Permissions: the access request matches what you are connecting.
  • Status: Outlook shows as connected.
  • Test: the test works from the right address.

When to contact Support

  • The Outlook option is missing.
  • You cannot select the right Microsoft account.
  • Authorisation keeps failing.
  • The connection shows an error after reconnecting.
  • Messages are not using the connected address.

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect any Microsoft account?

Only connect an account your business has approved.

Why does Microsoft ask for permission?

The permission screen explains the access needed for the connection. Read it before approving.

What if the connection expires or disconnects?

Open your connection settings and reconnect the same account, making sure you sign in to the right Microsoft account. Test once, and contact Support if it disconnects again.

Why am I seeing an authentication error?

Microsoft could not confirm the sign-in, permission or account access. Sign in to the correct account, review the permission request and try once more. If it continues, note the exact message and contact Support.
