How to Troubleshoot a Domain That Is Not Connecting
Use this guide to safely check a domain connection that is pending or has failed before you contact Support.
Before you begin
- You know the exact domain or subdomain and which website it should show.
- You can log in to your domain provider's DNS settings.
- Do not delete or change unrelated DNS, email or verification records.
Step by step
- Check the status. Open the domain in Ignite Funnels and note the status or error shown.
- Confirm the domain and website. Make sure the right domain or subdomain is assigned to the right website or funnel, and that the website is published.
- Compare the DNS records. Check every required record against what is saved at your domain provider: type, name and value.
- Look for conflicts. Check for duplicate or conflicting records with the same name, such as an old A record or CNAME. If you are unsure whether a record is safe to change, ask Support first.
- Give it time. After any correction, wait for DNS to update (often within an hour, up to 48 hours), then verify again.
- Escalate with evidence if it still does not work.
Common problems
- Status is pending: check the records and allow time to update.
- Record not found: compare the type, name and value exactly. Some providers add your domain to the name automatically, so enter only the part shown.
- Shows the wrong website: confirm the domain is assigned to the correct website.
- Security warning: do not bypass it. Contact Support with the status shown.
When to contact Support
- The records match but verification still fails.
- A conflicting record cannot be safely resolved.
- The domain shows the wrong website.
- A security or certificate warning will not go away.
- Email or another service was affected by a DNS change.
Include the domain, current status, screenshots of the records you entered (with sensitive details hidden) and the time of your last change.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my domain still pending?
DNS may still be updating, or a record may be missing or incorrect.
Should I keep clicking Verify?
No. Repeated checks do not fix a wrong record. Correct the record, wait, then verify again.
